MODULAR PLANT NURSERY

This product addresses spatial constraint and drainage issues encountered by planters in urban apartments.

Plant portability and potability affects the decisions to plant within tiny urban estates and kitchens. At one point or another, spaces may be reconfigured - to increase commuting space, or to store other objects. How will we best able to store, stack, and enjoy the display of  our potted greens, without jeopardising the lifespan of the plants (water logging/lack of sunlight etc)?

Hydro Bamboo, inspired from soil free planting techniques, gives planters the liberty in deciding where to store their plants. Each capsule can be stacked, or strung together. Its clear shell and gaps allow sunlight to penetrate through, and water to evaporate. Designed to be held together only by mechanical means (no gluing), these capsules are safe to be strung on bamboo poles to save housing spaces, to be hung out following your laundry routines.

Each Hyddrobamboo consists of a plant housing and a wicking compartment (Mat: Cotton rope), made of similar moulds. (Material: AirCarbon thermoplastic). Water compartments and securing caps are made of galvanised zinc metal and cork stoppers.

Chosen materials are renewable (cotton, cork and PHA based thermoplastic made from carbon emissions, rust resistant and safe.
